Orecchini - earrings

Ho realizzato alcuni di questi orecchini quest'estate ed è stato veramente divertente fare qualcosa di diverso e rilassante, anche se di diverso c'è solo il gancio degli orecchini.
Come ormai sarà ovvio amo le teiere ed usarle in questo modo è stata una naturale evoluzione!

I made some of these earrings this summer and it was really fun to make something different and relaxing, even if the only different part is the earrings hook.
I think that it is clear that i love teapots and to use them this way was a natural evolution!

1:12 vs 1:48, a lazy dog and the lake

Ciao cari amici, questa sera voglio mostrarvi un oggetto che è rimasto un semplice schizzo su un foglio di carta per tanto tempo, niente di particolare o incredibilmente fantasioso, lo so, ma molto divertente da realizzare così dopo avere finito la versione 1:12 ho pensato di farne anche una versione in scala 1:48, vista la carenza di fantasia che ho ultimanete un idea per due progetti.
Mi sento terribilmente pigra in questo periodo, sarà colpa della carenza di luce e caldo, piove praticamente tutti i giorni quì, e devo avere contagiato anche il cane...
Dear friends, I want to show you something that has remained a simple sketch on a piece of paper for a long time, nothing particular or incredibly original, I know, but it was much fun to make it so after finishing the 1:12 version I have decided to make a 1:48 version, an idea for two projects, a good thing in this period with such a few imagination.
I have felt terribly lazy recently, may be because of the lack of light and warmth, it's raining pratically every day here, I must have infected the dog too...

Ed ecco il lago del titolo, non c'entra niente con tutto il resto ma è la metà delle mie passeggiate e del cane pigro, un angolino di paradiso che vi mostro con grande piacere:

Torta fiorita - floral cake

La mia ultima creazione, una bella torta decorata con fiori primaverili perchè in questi freddi giorni di piggia ho voglia di colori e di profumi.

My last creation, a beautiful cake decorated with spring flowers because in these cold rainy days I feel like colors and scents.

E ora vi confessa la mia altra ( fra le tante....) passione, fare e decorare torte, lo so, niente di originale, ormai lo fanno tutti, ma mi diverto troppo!!! E poi sto diventando cieca a forza di fare cose minuscole così ogni tanto mi riposo la vista.
And now I'm confessing you my other (among the several.....) passion: to make and decorate cakes, I know, not so original, everybody makes it but it so much fun!!! Moreover I'm getting blind going on working on tiny things so from time to time I rest my eyes.

coniglietti - bunnies

-Tempo fa creavo spesso queste piccole creature affacendate a fare qualcosa, cucinare, giocare, fare la nanna...i miei preferiti sono sempre stati i coniglietti o i topolini, questa mamma coniglia è rimasta chiusa in una scatola per tanti tanti mesi in attesa dell'idea che mi convincesse a finirla ed ora eccola: visto che in questo periodo sono tutti malati, beh, anche il suo piccolino è a letto con l'influenza così cosa c'è di meglio di una tazza di cioccolata calda per sentirsi subito bene???
Mamma coniglia e coniglietto sono in scala 1:48.
-Long ago I used to make these small creatures busy making things, cooking, playing, sleeping...my favourite ones have always been bunnies and mice, this mum bunny has been closed inside a box for many many months waiting for the idea that could convince me to finish it and now here she is: since everybody is ill these days, well, his baby is in bed with the flu too so what's better that a hot cocoa cup to feel better immediately?
Mom and baby bunny are in 1/4" scale.

The day after

Eccomi, e anche questa fiera è finita, sono arrivata a casa ieri sera veramente molto stanca ma con ancora tanta adrenalina in corpo perchè le due giornate sono state così dense da non potere quasi mangiare (e questo sicuramente non può essere che un bene!!!).
La parte bella del partecipare ad una fiera non è semplicemente mostrare il proprio lavoro ma soprattutto la gente: i visitatori, spesso gli stessi che trovi a Madrid e a Parigi, quindi un grazie di vero cuore per fare tanta strada e i colleghi, o meglio le colleghe in quanto questo mini mondo ha il 99% di quote rosa e oltre a trovare le amiche di sempre ho auto la possibilità di abbinare un viso ed una voce ad un blog o ad un piccolo negozio virtuale.
Sarebbe un elenco troppo lungo quindi per non correre il rischio involontrario di dimenticare qualche nome mando un forte abbraccio a tutte le amiche vecchie e nuove che ho incontrato e finalmente conosciuto in questi due giorni. 
Purtroppo non ho foto della fiera ma solo di alcune creazioni che sono venute con me a Milano e anche queste (le foto) di pessima qualità in quanto la mia nuova fotocamera non collabora e fa tutte foto giallastre e sfocate.......come rimpiango la mia vecchia canon manuale pesante come un macigno e vecchia quasi come me!
 Alcune teiere (che noia direte.....) ma piacciono tanto ed è così divertente farle:

 Here I am, and also this exhibition is over, I came home last night really very tired but still with a lot of adrenaline in my body because in these two days I was so busy   that I could not hardly eat (and this can not be that good! !).
The nice part of attending a trade show is not just showcasing the work but most of all the people: visitors, often the same ones met in Madrid and Paris,  a special thank to them, and the other miniaturists, how nice to match a face and a voice to a blog or a small shop!
It would be a too long list so not to run the risk of forgetting some names I wish to send a big hug to all the old and new friends that I have met and known in these last two days.
Unfortunately I have no photos of the show but only a few of the creations that have come to Milan with me and these (the photos) have a poor quality because my new camera doesn't want to cooperate so the photos are all yellowish and blurry ....... how I miss my old canon camera, even if it was as heavy as a rock and almost as old as me!
Some teapots (how boring you may say .....) but everybody likes them so much and it is so funny to make them:

Come tutti o quasi sapete una nuova iniziativa di Miniaturitalia è stato il cake contest che consisteva nel ridurre il + fedelmente possibile una torta vera in perfetta scala 1:12, era possibile ammirare sul posto le numerose  torte reali con affiancate le meravigliose riduzioni, purtroppo la mia tortina era orfana perchè la sua "mamma" non si è presentata ma io mi sono divertita molto a modellarla quindi eccola:
A new venture at Miniaturitalia was the cake contest that consisted in reproducing a real cake in a perfect 1:12th scale,  it was possible to admire them close to the wonderful mini reproduction, unfortunately  my little cake was orphan because its "mummy" didn't come but is was really funny to make it so here it is:

Ed in fine eccomi alla partenza sabato mattina... lo so, lo so, non si vede niente ma era tanto presto e c'era tanto buio che purtroppo la mia immagine non è stata colta dalla mia scadente fotocamera......
And at the end here I am  while I was leaving for the show on Saturday morning.....I know, I know, you can see nothing but it was so early and it was so dark that my poor camera couldn't capture my figure......

Un po' di dolcezza

Voglio mostrarvi le torte che ho realizzato per Miniaturitalia, quando penso alle torte decorate il mio pensiero va sempre ai fiori, trovo che sia l'abbinamento perfetto, sia per quelle in miniatura che per quelle vere e i colori possono solo essere delicati.
Questa volta ho usato rose e anemoni, sono piuttosto soddisfatta del risultato, spero piacciano anche a voi:

 I want to show you the cakes that I have realized for Miniaturitalia, when I think of cakes my thought goes to flowers, I think that this is the best combination, both for miniature and for real cakes and the colors can only be delicate.
This time I have used some roses and anemones, I'm quite happy with the result, I hope that you like them too:

 

MINIATURITALIA 2013

Un velocissimo post per ricordare a chi non lo sapesse già che fra pochi giorni si aprirà Miniaturitalia, la prima e unica fiera italiana per miniature, è una fiera bellisima, organizzata in modo impeccabile, in una bella location, facile da raggiungere (appena fuori dalla stazione centrale di Milano) e soprattutto con i migliori miniaturisti in circolazione (.....) e ovviamente i migliori visitatori!
 A very fast post to remind who doesn't know it yet that in a few days Miniaturitalia will open its doors, it is the 1st and only Italian miniature show, it is wonderfully and  impeccably organized,  the location is really beautiful, it is easy to reach (just outside the central station in Milan) and most of all it has the best miniaturists around (.....) and the best visitors too!

Nuovo blog

Ciao, innanzitutto buon anno anche se un po'in ritardo, spero che l'anno vecchio sia finito bene ma che l'anno nuovo sia iniziato anche meglio.
Spero che le miniature facciano sempre parte della vostra vita e che l'anno nuovo vi porti nuove ispirazioni e nuovi progetti da realizzare.
E a proposito di miniature voglio presentarvi un blog nato da poco, è un blog di miniature anche se un po'diverse da quelle che piacciono a noi, è il blog di un giovane artista molto talentuoso che conosco molto bene, in questo blog verranno pubblicati anche piccoli tutorials a trucchetti che andranno benissimo anche per le nostre di miniature quindi se vi va dateci un'occhiata, fate un commento se vedete qualcosa che vi piace e ogni tanto fate una visita, ne varrà sicuramente la pena, grazie!

Hello, above all Happy new year even if a bit late, I hope that the old year  ended well and that the new year has started even better.

Workshop di Miniaturitalia

Eccoli, finalmente sono stati pubblicati i workshop di Miniaturitalia  ed ecco il mio, sarà il workshop nr 9, cupcakes, magari non sarà così originale ma insegnerò a fare proprio tutto dall'inizio alla fine, le basi, la pasta, le ciliegie, i fiorellini, le rose, l'alzatina (pittura e l'assemblaggio...), sono molto emozionata perchè sarà in assoluto il mio secondo workshop, il prima risale a giugno in occasione del SIMP,  era sempre un workshop sui cupcakes ma questa volta secondo me sono + carini, inoltre sarà il mio primo workshop in italiano e finalmente riuscitò a spiegare tutto bene bene bene (sempre che qualcuno si iscriva...!) perchè l'altra volta le mie allieve erano miste francesi e australiana così è stato piuttosto stressante fare la traduzione simultanea di quello che si stava facendo dal francese all'inglese e viceversa.

Here they are, the workshop for Miniaturitalia have finally been published and here you are mine, it is workshop nr 9, I will teach to make the cupcakes, may be it won't be so original but you will learn to make everything from the beginning to the end: the base, the recipe of c.p., cherries, tiny flowers, roses, cake stand ( painting and assembling), I'm really thrilled because this will be my second workshop, the 1st one dates back to June at the SIMP, always cupcakes but this time on my opinion they are much prettier,  moreover this will be my 1st workshop in Italian so I will be able to explain everything very very very well (hoping that anybody will subscribe it....) because the last time my pupils were mixed French - Australian and it was rather stressing to translate what we were making from French to English and vice versa.

Christmas is approaching

Un veloce post per mostrarvi alcune miniature natalizie che ho realizzato questa settimana,  sinceramente sono veramente poche ma pazienza, sarà per l'anno prossimo!

Fairy furniture and miscellaneous

Here you are a few things left from the show, when I come back I usually tend to get rid of what was left so that I can start to work on new projects, they will be available in my etsy shop starting from later today, as soon as pictures will be ready.
Ecco alcune cose rimaste dallo show, quando torno di solito tendo a liberarmi di quello che mi è rimaso così posso iniziare a lavorare a nuovi porgetti, saranno disponibili nel mio etsy a partire da più tardi in giornata non appena le foto saranno pronte.

Post Madrid Tom Bishop Show

Here I am, rather tired but still excited for the show, still so excited that I can't sleep, may be the lot of tea that I'm usually drinking all day long won't help me! Anyhow it was a real succes, I think that the wishes that I received from you before I left brought me luck so I take this occasion to thank you all from the deep of my heart!

Eccomi, piuttosto stanca ma ancora così eccitata per la fiera che non riesco a dormire, forse tutto il te che bevo durante la giornata non mi aiuta! Comunque è stato un vero successo, credo che gli auguri ricevuti prima della mia partenza mi abbiano portato fortuna così prendo l'occasione per ringraziarvi tutti dal profondo del mio cuore!

Ho intenzione di farne parecchie versioni in futuro anche perchè la maggior parte di loro ora ha una nuova casa.... Mushrooms and stepping stones

I have a big love for mushrooms and I love to reproduce them both in miniature and in real life size, today I'm working on these:

The list of mushrooms that I would like to reproduce is very long  but at the moment I think that I have time just for some Amanitae, I have given the bases an aged look so I think that the best placing would be a witch's or a wizard's house, do you agree?
L'elenco dei funghi che mi piacerebbe riprodurre è molto lungo ma per il momento credo di avere tempo solo per alcune Amanite, ho dato alle basi un aspetto invecchiato così credo che la collocazione migliore sia la casa di una strega o di un mago, siete d'accordo?


I have also been able to finish these stepping stones (telling the truth they are better from real than in the photo...),  I'm planning to sell them in kits: stones, some grass and some mushrooms,  or ready to be placed somewhere...I'll see.
Sono anche riuscita a finire queste pietre (a dire la verità sono meglio dal vivo che in foto...) , ho inenzione di venderle in kits: pietre, erbetta e funghi, o pronte da essere collocate da qualche parte...vedrò.

Just a few days before the show, I'm starting to be a bit worried and nervous...still too much to do!
Mancano pochi giorni alla fiera e sto iniziando ad essere un po'nervosa e agitata...c'è ancora troppo da fare!

Snails invasion

Seasonal fruit and finished teapots.

My work for the show is going on very very very slowly, I always have too few things to put on my table but may be better to have a few beautiful pieces than a lot of ugly stuff....at least this is what I say to myself to convince me that what is important is quality and not quantity....even if it would be better quality as well as quantity...
This week I have finished some new arrangements with seasonal fruits: apples, pears, persimmons and chestnuts, the cherries are not seasonal but I needed a touch of red.

 Il lavoro per la fiera sta procedendo molto molto molto lentamente, ho sempre troppo poche cose da mettere sul tavolo ma forse è meglio avere poche cose belle piuttosto che tanta roba brutta.... per lo meno questo è quello che mi dico per convincermi che quello che importa è la qualità e non la quantità.....anche se sarebbe meglio avere qualità e quantità....
Questa settimana ho realizzato alcune composizioni con frutta stagionale: mele, pere, caki e castagne, le ciliegie non sono stagionali ma mi serviva un tocco di rosso.

 And I have finally been able to finish some teapots, very very long and boring job but it is what makes the difference.

 E ho finalmente finito alcune teiere, la parte più lunga e noiosa del lavoro ma è anche qualla che fa la differenza.

Today I have started to work on some tiny snails (I haven't made them for ages!) and mushrooms, at the moment I have no idea about how I will use them, I'll see.

 Oggi ho iniziato a modellare alcune miniscole lumache (non le faccio da secoli!) e funghi, per ora non ho nessuna idea di come usarli, vedrò.
